Producer Spotlight The guy who made "A Milli"

This morning I was looking for a song I heard on the radio by new hip hop girl Nicki Minaj. The beat was super fresh and nicki was killing it. Turns out the song was "Did it on 'em" and at the beginning I heard a familiar sample. Almost in audible I heard that guy say "bangaladauhn!" yeah it sounds like that. I've heard it in a bunch of songs but I had no idea what it meant. I guess I realized it was the producer leaving his footprint, but you can't really hear what he's saying. You've probably heard this guy yelling to. It always happens in the first 15 seconds of the song. Turns out the guy is Bangladesh and he is yelling "bangladesh!" he is a independent hip hop producer that has had some serious hits (lil wayne's "a milli" Beyonce's "Diva"). In fact all the beats that this guy makes are freaking awesome. I found an article about him on creative loafing that gave the low down. This guy sounds pretty great. No sampling and no record deal. Here's the article.

Here's a list of all the good stuff he's done:

Bangladesh

Nicki Minaj – Did it on ‘em

Ludacris – Whats Your Fantasy

Eightball & MJG's - Forever

Beyonce – Diva, Video Phone

Gucci Mane – Stupid Wild, Lemonade

Lil Wayne – A milli, 6 Foot 7 Foot

Ke$ha – Sleazy

Petey Pablo – Vibrate

Tyga – Cut My Check

Mario – Break Up

Dem Franchize Boys – Talkin Out the Side of the Neck

Kelis - Bossy

New Music "Trinity" by Swim Team

Trinity by williammason98

Trinity

The death machines are rising
The end of all our time
People run for cover
We all have lost our minds

Why do we try to for hiding
We are deeply scared so
Underground can’t save you
I don’t want to be alone

Trinity
Hold me
I am no longer awake
Trinity
Hold me
I don’t know how much I can take

We just want fulfillment
For everything to fit
Our souls just long to be mirrored
Our direction path to be lit

Chorus

Dreams take away my friends
And the hope always seems to end

And to my world I cleave
The more I think the less happiness I receive

Themed Playlist "Songs About Ghosts"

So you may have seen my earlier Themed playlists "Same Names Cool" and "Numbered Songs" and I know have a new one for you. Even more specific I present, "Songs About Ghosts" Because I am too lazy to type out the actual songs I have here screen shot of this awesome playlist. Everyone song just had to have ghost in the title and as you can see it works out to a good 15 song set.

New Hit Single from Swim Team

Those of you who know things, know that I am in college and that I am part of a new band. This band is SWIM TEAM. Thats right, SWIM TEAM. Me, Tyler Bass, and John Baber. Here is our new hit single. Recorded in under 10 takes, this new song explores our new boundaries with pretty piano and banjo, sorry no oboe. But maybe one day. Listen and enjoy and try not to find any mistakes.

New Dj Mix

I just recently downloaded a trial version of Ableton Live. Its a pretty complicated software. I made a mix during class and worked on it a little in my dorm. Here is my first attempt at a mash up. This song includes: LCD Soundsystem's "Get Innocuous" A Tribe Called Quest's "Excursions" and of course M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes". Hope yall enjoy!

Good Ideas by williammason98

New Painting "Brick Walls"

I am no painter, but I like to do it. Its one of the oldest forms of art, and it just feels good. I recently received paints, paint brushes, and a canvas for christmas from Rosie Jager. I was more than delighted to receive them. While painting this picture of the two brick walls, I listened to 3 really good albums. I started out with Buck Owens "Before You Go/No One But You" circa 1965. Then moved onto Diamond Rings new album "Special Affections" and finally concluded the album with Tom Waits's "Bone Machine" 1992. The albums really helped me complete my project. I hope to continue to paint and put my stuff up here on the blog. The music is essential when painting. Check out any of those albums if you haven't already they're each really really good.

Soundtrack Music #2

Here is another song composed by Ben and I. Its a slow moving reflective song. In these recordings we stuck to using one Yamaha keyboard and the MicroKorg synth. These song has a unusual amount of feedback because the keyboard was run through a ibanez delay pedal.

Lot Soundtrack

Here is the first song off the original soundtrack for the film. Its really long and I think only party of the song will actually be used. It has its intense moments and will probably be sliced down to 30 seconds. Enjoy "Tense Moment (Running in slow motion)" let your mind run wild with what is happening during this music.

Spike Jonze Directed Arcade Fire Video

Anyone who really knows me knows that I love Director Spike Jonze. Not the black director guy Spike Lee, but the skinny white jackass producer Spike Jonze. He's directed countless music videos and has moved on to doing major motion pictues. He did the movie Being John Malcovich, Adaptation, and Where The Wild Things Are. His work is beautiful and some of the most creative out there. His music videos have always been original and entertaining. He just recently came out with this video for Arcade Fire's The suburbs. Its an incredible video. Spike Jonze has been one of the only directors that has really pulled me completely into a story. Everything about this video is great. It captivates you and kills you at the same time.

If if it says something gay about being unavailable here's the link.

Some Great Music I've been listening to

Just recently after searching through pitchfork, I discovered the band Tennis. Seeing how Tennis is an awesome band name I decided to give a listen. They are a lower-fi Beach House with more up tempo and happy tunes! Pitchfork had some videos of them live that were awesome! I highly suggest giving them a watch. They only have an EP out right now which means you can get in on this early. Be that cool guy that knows things! They do a cover of an old song by Jackie Deshannon which I really enjoyed. They just have a fun summery feel.

This is the cover

This next video is the Original "When you Walk in the room" by Jackie DeShannon. I watched it and was mesmerized I had to watch it like 18 times!

Important Blogger Buzz! Pirate House Inc. Multimedia Blog Fantastical!

Is anyone out there tired, tired of stupid stuff? Stuff that in your opinion is not worth your time?Stuff thats written way past not only your attention span but also your interested-in span? Yeah, well me to! Sometimes there are just too many hours in the day and I need there to be more internet for me to look at! Not only more, but also interesting! I think I've found the cure.

Pirate House Inc.

This pretentious blog has more musical superficiality then you can say you're better than. Visit it for mp3s by bands you've never heard of. In fact the bands on this blog have all the same people in them. HOW INDIE! I know right. Don't even think about bringing this up in conversation cause you'll get more than a few side glances from unbelievers and non hipsters. Enjoy hours of skinny jean branding, and faux rayban rockin on this smaller than life MUSICAL BLOG!

Same Name's Cool

So I made this playlist like a year ago on my iPod with songs that had the same titles but by different bands. You know the ones that aren't covers, just the phenomenon of same names. Thats one of those things I like to do. Make themed playlists based on something other than the feel of each song. For example I have a playlist of songs that only uses Numbers as titles.
Any way I wanted to post those playlists on here for your enjoyment. Its a way to celebrate the unoriginality in the World. There is so much of it. Don't tell me you don't know at least 2 guys named william. Im pretty sure I personally know 4. I think its good to have that unorignality. That way its easier for everyone to connect to each other.
