New Look New idea.

So I changed what my blog looked like. Now it looks less lame I think. Anyway I was talking with Ben the other day about an idea that I think will catch on pretty soon. Fads come and go. Some fads deal with clothing or appearance others with attitudes or furniture. A fad that I have seen growing in my time has been the sub-fad. Not the fads below, but this whole deep bass subwoofer fad. And, hey, I love it. I love having my pants shake right off my body because you installed four 28 inch subwoofers in the tiny cab of your truck. I love not being able to hear the actual music over the thud and heart punching bass.
But i know its just a fad and I had a new fad that will soon take the teens by storm. The HIGH end! Tweeters! Thats right the part of the speaker that produces the higher frequencies! Yay! now our ear drums can bleed with fire engine siren clarity! Who cares about bass any way. Its easy to play and normally the bass player in the band is the least important. Everybody just watch you'll see hip youngsters askin their parents for money to install the top of the line tweeters in their car. So now when you're waiting at a stop light your vehicle won't shake because the gotee'd 19 yr old next to you is "bumpin" but rather you'll feel your brain being squeezed into a tiny box from the high pitched tweeters of the new kid on the block. LOOK OUT HERE COMES SQUEAKY!

Polaroids "The Great Cahaba" pt 2

This is another from the River. The picture turned out really clear so I was very proud.

Polaroids "The Great Cahaba"

This is a picture of Ben Watson at the Cahaba RIver. Growing up we've always played there, swinging from homemade rope swings and floating down its murky waters. The Cahaba is surely not the cleanest river in Alabama. The river has alway given off a Huckleberry Finn vibe. It just calls you to freedom and carelessness. I really want to run away, build a raft, and just go down it one day. The river sparks adventure and leisure, in my opinion the best of both worlds. This particular part of the river was new to me. I decided that I wanted a picture of ben on shore while I was in the water. Yeah thats right, in this shot I was up to my waist in the river. We had to cross the river a couple of times that day with my camera. It was really scary considering the price of camera and rarity of film. Any way I ultimately got what I wanted out of the picture. I won't be seeing a lot of this guy next year, so this is just a held memory of good times at the river.

Polaroid Series

This is a picture of the back of my house around 1 o'clock in the morning. I was trying to get a night time shot like someone was creepin in our back yard to steal our stuff or just look at our house. In the shot is my back porch with the light on. Above that is our chimney and just to the left of that is my parents bedroom window.

Polaroid Series

This is a picture of my garage. This is where the music fusion happens. In the shot you can see some guitars, a bass drum with a blanket over it, a rocking chair, a computer, and my piano.
That piano used to belong in the basement under the steps of my high school. One day when me and my fellow band mate Benjamin were playing on it, the school's janitor called down the steps, "Hey what you doing down there?!" We were terrified and almost ran away. But we replied honestly that we were just playing the piano. He then asked, "You want it?!" I could hardly believe this. The school janitor was gonna give me a piano? How would I even get it out of the school? But no worries he said they would deliever it. Can you freakin believe that? Free Piano. And delievery. It was a wonderful day and that sparked my interest for the piano. I have been playin it ever since.

Polaroids the "why"

I recently bought a polaroid camera . It was $20.50 on ebay. I was really excited because it was so cheap, but then I discovered...they don't make the film any more. But that doesn't mean you can't find it any where, it just means that any film you buy will be expired and expensive.
So any way I decided it was worth it and invested into some film. I've now turned this into an art project, and I hope everyone enjoys it. The pictures I take are more a reminder to me of life right before college. I am trying to capture places and people who I might not see for a very long time.
